About Me

Chung-En (Johnny) Yu is a Ph.D. student in the Intelligent Systems and Robotics department at the Unversity of West Florida (UWF) and Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC), where he began his studies under the supervision of Prof. Brian Jalaian in August 2023.

His research interests lie in robust and reliable agentic AI systems, multimodal foundation models, and uncertainty quantification for high-stakes, real-world applications. He also has experience as a teaching assistant and as a co-instructor for machine learning and deep learning courses, where he contributed to lecture materials, assignments, and in-class instruction.

When not immersed in his research, Johnny enjoys outdoor activities such as surfing and diving, as well as pursuing his passion for photography and filming. He also dedicates some of his free time to working on interesting AI applications.
